Global Engagement Opportunities

Global Understanding, Perspectives, and Skills

Global Engagement focuses on providing opportunities to the campus community in order to facilitate global understanding, perspectives, and skills.

Global Engagement:

Faculty and Staff Awards for Global Engagement, Research or International Projects

Hanifa Yahiaoui in Arles, FranceGlobal Engagement grants are competitive and award up to $2,500 to faculty and staff to be used for international projects that will directly lead to increasing students' personal experience with international or intercultural issues, communities, or people.

This would include travel to research faculty-led, short-term program opportunities with the goal of directly increasing global understanding. The grant also supports faculty-exchange teaching or research abroad, that could otherwise not be done domestically, to enhance instructor capabilities. It could also encompass on campus activities such as preparation time to organize class and cultural exchange between currently enrolled students, or with classrooms abroad via Internet/Skype connections. Other ideas for projects that enhance our student’s understanding of the world through a personal engagement with other cultures are welcome. Funds may be used internationally or domestically. Fall awards must be used before July 1st, and spring awards before January 1st. In certain cases award deadline may be extended with prior approval.
